Herdr mobile client for iPhone and Android

ColliePWA is a mobile client for Herdr. It is a web app that your own machine serves. Open it on your phone, pair it once, and drive your Herdr workspaces from there. There is no app store and no account.

Set it up in three steps.

  1. On the computer that runs Herdr, start the Herdr server. Then run herdr plugin install AltanS/collie and herdr plugin action invoke start --plugin herdr.collie. Herdr 0.7.0 or newer is required.
  2. Open the address it gives you on your phone, and pair the phone. The install guide shows each step.
  3. Add ColliePWA to your home screen. On Android, Chrome offers an Install button. On an iPhone or iPad, use Safari's share sheet.

No plugin? Install Collie with the script instead. collie start finds a running Herdr on its own.

What you get on your phone.

  • Every Herdr workspace, tab and pane in one list. Herdr says which panes hold an agent, and the ones that need you sit on top.
  • Herdr pushes state changes, so a pane that just asked a question moves up without waiting for the next scheduled check.
  • Read the pane screen and reply. Send Esc, Ctrl and arrow keys from the Keys tray, pick a plan option, or speak your reply.
  • Open, rename and close tabs, and open a workspace, from the phone.
  • Get a push notification when an agent asks a question or finishes. Push needs an HTTPS address. See voice and push.
  • Nothing goes through a cloud service. ColliePWA listens on loopback only. Your phone reaches it through a private front door such as Tailscale, after you pair it.

Mobile client or SSH app?

Herdr's own docs say you can use Herdr from a phone with any SSH client, and they name Moshi for iPhone. That route runs the Herdr terminal on a small screen. ColliePWA shows a list of your agents and touch controls instead. You can use both.

ColliePWA is a web app, not a native app. It needs your computer to stay on, and your phone needs a path to it. It has no watch app. The comparison with Moshi lists both sides.
